Parking the Impossible –Wednesday, March 21st, 2007
“For nothing will be impossible with God.”
- Luke 1:37
My dear friends I write to you with excitement and enthusiasm. God is good! Why? Because God showed me firsthand that I shouldn’t ever stop praying. Remember what Paul encouraged the church at Thessalonica about prayer when he said, “Pray without ceasing.” God also revealed to me that I shouldn’t stop believing in the BIG THINGS. Jesus reminded His disciples to think and believe BIG when He said, “All things are possible to him who believes.” Why say all this? Because yesterday morning I literally witnessed a mountain move before my very eyes ~ a cement mountain filled with parking spaces. Christ said to His disciples this could happen in our life. He said, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.’”
Currently I am overwhelmed with JOY and gratefulness! As you know, our logistical coordinator has been in communication with individuals with a nearby hospital. Well, with officially got the word...we now have parking beyond my dreams for the upcoming 40-day tent revival. And this is no ordinary parking. Even though the hospital has numerous parking lots about ˝ mile away from the TENT location, there is one parking lot only 1 block away. But this parking lot is brand new. It is 3-stories. It has maybe been open for only a month. It is well-lit and easy to find. It was my “parking” dream since I saw it being built. I prayed. Many people prayed. In fact we pursued many avenues. Many people helped us through phone calls and emails. But the results were out of our control, and up to the Lord.
Thankfully, the Lord has continued to encourage and confirm to me time and time again, He is in this 40-day tent revival. This is His revival. This is His tent-meeting. And where He wants people to park, He actually cares about. How do I know? Because I read an email sent to our logistical coordinator yesterday morning. It said...
“We have a new garage at the corner of Junius and Washington that can accommodate this many. Will that work?”
Trust me when I read this email, I almost passed out. This is the best case scenario out of everything we have tried for parking. We have tried parking lots 5 blocks away, 10 blocks away, 2 miles away. We have contacted shuttle companies. Our community involvement and logistical coordinators were being stretched. But praise the Lord, He has dropped a parking lot right in front of our face. The impossible became the possible. The unthinkable became the imaginable. The desirable became reality.
Instantly, my family of four, Laura, Maya, and Nadia and I all hopped in our car and drove to the LARGE parking lot. We gave praise and honor to the Almighty God. Isn’t God awesome?!? Please don’t tell me that God doesn’t care about our everyday details. He does. He wants to be involved. He wants to be apart of our lives. But the questions we must ask ourselves, “Do we allow Him to work in our lives? Do we provide opportunities for Him to reveal Himself in a powerful and mighty hand?”
After sharing the good news about the newfound parking lot, my mom in Indiana summarized my thoughts well when she said, “Well, I guess the Lord is expecting people to come to the TENT.” Can I get an amen? Please pray that the Lord continues to move mountains not only for this 40-day tent revival, but also in our own lives on a daily basis. We each must think big about the Lord. Let’s not limit what He can do ~ for “nothing will be impossible with God.”
